NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL INCOME TAX RESOLUTION #2026-04- BOONE COUNTY LOIT Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Town of Jamestown, Indiana, that the Town Council of Town of Jamestown, Indiana, as a member of the Boone County Local Income Tax Council (Boone County LOIT) will consider at 421 E Main St, Jamestown, in the Council Chambers of Town Hall, at 6 p.m. on August 24, 2026, the following proposed resolution regarding the local income tax imposed within Boone County. RESOLUTION FOR BOONE COUNTY LOCAL INCOME TAX COUNCIL ORDINANCE 2026-04 - WHICH WOULD PROVIDE AN INCREASE TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY LOCAL INCOME TAX DISTRIBUTION TO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS WHEREAS, the Town of Jamestown (the Town) wishes to exercise its rights as a member of the Boone County Local Income Tax Council (Boone County LOIT) to introduce a resolution in support of Boone County LOIT Ordinance No. 2026-04; and WHEREAS, the Town agrees that an increase in the Public Safety Local Income Tax Rate is necessary to provide additional funding for public safety purposes and to support the volunteer fire departments serving Boone County. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED the Town of Jamestown hereby casts its full vote allocation (1.22) on the Boone County LOIT IN FAVOR OF ORDINANCE 2026-04 - Ordinance Modifying Local Income Tax Rates For Public Safety In Boone County, Indiana. After the public hearing, the Town Council of the Town of Jamestown, as a member of the Boone County Local Income Tax Council may take action on the proposed resolution. There is no remonstrance opportunity or any action taken on the proposed resolution. The public hearing identified above is the taxpayer's opportunity to express concerns or ask questions on the proposed resolution. Dated August 7, 2026.
